数字翻译(Interpreting Numbers)

(1)分数（Fractions)

分子用基数词,分母用序数词。当分子为1时，分母用单数；当分子为2或2以上 时，分母用复数。

二分之一：a/ one half 四分之一:a/ one quarter 四分之三:three quarters

五分之一：one-fifth 十分之九:nine-tenths

当分子和分母的数目很大时,可用over将分子、分母隔幵。

九十分之四十六：forty-six over ninety

二十八分之一十三：thirteen over twenty-eight

带分数的表达方式：整数后面用and连接。

五又三分之二 ：five and two-thirds

十五又四分之一-fifteen and one quarter

(2)小数（Decimals)

小数点的英语为poim，小数点前面的数如果是零的话，可读成zero(美式）或

naught(英式)，或者省略不读。小数点后面的数字都读成个位数，如果是零的话,就读 成0(/ou/),例如:

0. 5：point five； zero/naught point 5

0. 357：point three five seven； zero/naught point three five seven 0. 004 ：zero/naught point o o four 78. 34： seventy-eight point three four

汉语里常常在表示大数目的时候,用小数点表示,译成英语时,一般还原为英语 的数字表达法。例如：

零点九万（0. 9 万）:nine thousand 零点三亿(0. 3 亿）：ninety million

五点八四万（5. 84 万）：fifty-eight thousand and four hundred

(3)模糊数字(Indefinite Numbers)

大约，大概，......左右：about / around/ some / approximately / roughly

少于、小于、低于、不到、不足、以下..fewer than / less than / under / below 多于、大于、高于、超过、以上:more than / over / above /• •. and more 将近、接近、差不多、几乎、差一点：nearly / almost / toward / close on 数十/ 几十 / 好几十/ 数十年：tens of (20—99); dozens of ( 24 — 99);

scores of (40—99) decades of ( 20—99) 数百/数以百计/好几百hundreds of (200—999) 数千/数以千计/好几千：thousands of (2,000—9999) 数万/ 数以万计/好几万：tens of thousands of (20,000—99,999) 数十万/好几十万：hundreds of thousands of (200,000—999,999) 数百万/好几百万:millions of <2,000,000—9,999,999) 数千万/好儿千万:tens of millions of (20,000,000—99,999,999) 数亿/好几亿/亿万:hundreds of millions of (200,000,000—999,999,999) 数十亿/好几十亿：billions of (2,000,000,000—9,999,999,999)
